First time using short pips, so I can only compare them to what I “expect” short pips to do.
I ordered it in 1.5mm. It has a medium/medium-soft sponge with a very grippy topsheet; I could roll the ball back over the net with a backspin serve! It was spinny enough to pull off a weak banana flick and even a strawberry flick against a medium backspin ball. Very fast drives/smashes, as to be expected.
I actually got it to try short pip chopping. Adding/changing spin is easy & there’s more margin for error than with inverted, but the sponge is a little too fast for chopping (it’s fine if you’re playing against someone who can’t loop hard though). 1mm might be better for chopping, but if you’re looking for short pip chopping there’s probably better options elsewhere.
All in all, a fast, grippy pip that can smash well & still put a good amount of spin on flicks/pushes. Not ideal for chopping but not terrible at it either. Great for the price!
